After completing his fifth NBA season, former Duke standout Tre Jones hit free agency this summer. On Monday night, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the 25-year-old point guard from Apple Valley, Minnesota, has signed a three-year, \$24 million contract to remain with the Chicago Bulls.
Jones, selected 41st overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, spent four and a half seasons with the San Antonio Spurs before being dealt to the Bulls in early February. Over 297 career regular-season games, the younger brother of 2015 Duke national champion Tyus Jones has averaged 8.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 0.9 steals in 21.7 minutes per game.
In 18 appearances for Chicago — including nine starts late in the season — Jones put up 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while logging 25.3 minutes a night.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound playmaker earned both ACC Player of the Year and ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors in his sophomore season under legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski in 2020–21, before declaring for the NBA Draft.
Jones was part of a star-studded 2018 Duke recruiting class that included Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Cam Reddish.
