Breaking News: Eagles DC Provides Health Update On Linebacker Ahead of Rookie Season

Philadelphia Eagles rookie linebacker likely won’t hit the practice field until around August, according to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

Campbell, the team’s 31st overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, has been recovering from shoulder surgery he underwent in March to repair a torn labrum. Since then, he’s been held out of practices as he rehabs, but the Eagles now have a tentative timeline for his return.

“He’s not expected to practice until sometime in August,” Fangio told reporters Tuesday. “We’re doing everything we can to keep him engaged. He’s locked in during meetings, and we’ve been working with him individually on drills tailored to what he can handle right now. He’s doing well and trying to absorb everything.”

Fangio added that Campbell has been spending time with the inside linebackers group and suggested the team may look to use him in edge-rushing situations during the 2025 season.
