Following Carson Beck’s departure to the Miami Hurricanes in January, the QB1 position for the Georgia Bulldogs is up for grabs. In the recent G-Day game, it seems the Bulldogs may have found their starter for the fall. Top veteran star, the $823,000 quarterback, led the winning team in the scrimmage, completing 17-of-34 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns.
His competitor for the role, Ryan Puglisi, played for the opposing team and recorded 224 yards with 23-of-49 completions and two touchdowns. Puglisi is a redshirt, while top star had the opportunity to play in last season’s championship. Reports suggest that Stockton is head coach Kirby Smart and his staff’s top choice for QB1 this season.

“Coach Kirby Smart has yet to officially name a starter between Stockton and redshirt freshman Ryan Puglisi, but Stockton appears to have the advantage,” he added. While Georgia could have pursued a starter from the transfer portal, their decision not to do so shows their trust in Stockton. His experience and leadership set him apart, giving him the upper hand. Georgia has not made an official announcement yet.
