Auburn continues to reshape its roster in the transfer portal, and the latest addition comes at a key position of need. The Tigers have landed a commitment from former Bowling Green tight end, according to multiple reports, adding another intriguing piece to an overhauled tight end room.

He originally began his college career at Florida, transferred to Bowling Green ahead of the 2025 season with the expectation of playing a significant role for the Falcons. Unfortunately, an injury sidelined him for the entire year. Despite that setback, Auburn Undercover reports that Boardingham has already signed with the Tigers. If he is granted a medical waiver for the missed 2025 season, he would arrive on the Plains with two years of eligibility remaining, giving Auburn a proven, experienced option moving forward.
A 6-foot-3 tight end from California, Boardingham spent three seasons in Gainesville and steadily carved out a role in Florida’s offense. He redshirted as a true freshman in 2022 after appearing in just one game, but his impact grew quickly thereafter. In 2023, he played in all 12 games, made his first two career starts, and emerged as a reliable target in the passing game. That breakout season earned him FWAA Freshman All-American honors, as he hauled in 26 receptions for 289 yards and four touchdowns.
One of the highlights of Boardingham’s Florida tenure came against Vanderbilt in 2023, when he delivered a career-best performance with seven catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns. That effort earned him SEC Co-Freshman of the Week recognition and showcased the matchup problems he can create down the seam and in the red zone.
He followed that up in 2024 by appearing in the first 11 games of the season and making two additional starts, further solidifying his experience at the SEC level. Over 24 career appearances with the Gators, Boardingham totaled 44 receptions for 417 yards and six touchdowns, production that reflects both consistency and upside at the position.
After transferring to Bowling Green, Boardingham was projected to start for the Falcons before suffering a labrum injury that ultimately required surgery. In March, he shared an update on social media showing his right arm in a sling, noting he was two months post-injury and focused on being ready for fall camp. Although he never saw game action in 2025, his recovery timeline and prior production make him a calculated upside addition for Auburn.
Under first-year head coach Alex Golesh, Auburn has been relentless in its efforts to rebuild the tight end room through both the portal and high school recruiting. Boardingham becomes the fifth transfer tight end added by the Tigers, joining Jake Johnson (North Carolina), Hunter Herring (ULM), Xavier Newsom (Howard), and Jonathan Echols (South Florida). Auburn also signed Semmes (Ala.) Mary Montgomery standout DJ Broughton, further emphasizing how heavily Golesh and his staff are investing in the position.
With experience in the SEC, proven receiving ability, and potentially multiple years of eligibility left, Boardingham represents another high-upside addition as Auburn looks to add depth, competition, and playmaking to its offense heading into the coming seasons.
