Breaking News: Packers Confirms Huge Deal for Another Top Experienced $33 Million Pass Rusher

The Packers appear to be relying on the hope that Lukas Van Ness realizes his potential and steps up as a solid pass-rushing partner alongside rising star Rashan Gary.

Although Gary has impressed during the offseason, general manager Brian Gutekunst might need to stay alert to trade opportunities in the coming months to strengthen a position that could be crucial for the defense to elevate its performance this season.

The New York Giants boast three potentially elite pass rushers in Brian Burns,  and No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter, but they face a tough road in the NFC East due to having the league’s most challenging schedule.

Although the Giants already exercised their fifth-year option—locking in \$14 million guaranteed for 2026—the former Oregon star with 21 career sacks could become an intriguing trade candidate if New York falls out of playoff contention this season.

Bleacher Report’s NFL analyst Brad Gagnon believes the Packers would be a strong potential landing spot for veteran star, writing that “Green Bay, Washington, and Detroit” are among the top fits if he becomes available around the trade deadline in November.

With plenty of time remaining before the NFL trade deadline, Kayvon Thibodeaux could emerge as a name to watch for the Packers, especially if their pass rush fails to show significant improvement.
