Breaking News: Packers May Get Final Chapter With Aaron Rodgers After All

Aaron Rodgers, the legendary former Green Bay Packers quarterback, has been a major topic of conversation throughout the 2025 NFL offseason. Although he remains a free agent, Rodgers is expected to suit up this season, with the Pittsburgh Steelers emerging as the likely destination. During his time with the Packers, Rodgers was a dominant force, carving up defenses and establishing himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in league history. He led Green Bay to numerous victories, including a Super Bowl title. Eventually, though, the team chose to move on, handing the reins to Jordan Love and trading Rodgers to the New York Jets.

His time in New York, however, didn’t go as planned. Rodgers tore his Achilles on his very first drive of the 2023 season, and the Jets failed to meet expectations in 2024. Despite the team’s struggles, Rodgers performed well statistically, completing 63% of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions over the two seasons.

While Rodgers and the Jets have since gone their separate ways, he’s expressed interest in possibly ending his career with the Packers. Rodgers has shared that he’d be open to signing with Green Bay for a ceremonial retirement.

“There’s a lot of love between me and the organization,” Rodgers said. “Whether I do or don’t retire as a Packer, I’m not sure yet. But if they asked, I’d probably say yes.” It would feel odd to see Rodgers retire with any team but the Packers, given the legacy he built there.

Over 18 seasons in Green Bay, Rodgers completed 65.3% of his passes for 59,055 yards, 475 touchdowns, and 105 interceptions, while also rushing for 3,466 yards and 35 scores. With Rodgers open to reuniting with the Packers for retirement, fans are now left wondering about his plans for 2025. All signs currently point to him starting the season under center for the Steelers.
