Habib Diarra (21), from RC Strasbourg, and Noah Sadiki (20), from Union Saint-Gilloise, were both signed by the Black Cats’ board in recent days.
Given their profile, trajectory, and cost, it is highly likely that both football players will play a significant part in Sunderland’s comeback to the Premier League.
However, the club is also considering the future in addition to the immediate effects. It is worthwhile to discuss the Lads’ most recent announcement in light of this.
Sunderland announce double signing of ‘promising’ midfield talents
On their official website, Sunderland declared that Jaydon Jones (18) and Jack Whittaker (18) had signed their first professional contracts.
Jones is an offensive midfielder, whereas Whittaker plays central midfield. The English club describes them as a “promising duo”.
“Sunderland AFC are delighted to confirm that Jack Whittaker and Jaydon Jones have signed their first professional contracts with the Club,” according to the release.
Both players have made significant progress in the club’s system, and system Manager Robin Nicholls promised that they will keep doing everything in their power to support their continued development.
“They each bring different strengths but share a strong work ethic and technical quality,” said Nicholls.

Consequently, Regis Le Bris will have two new options starting in the upcoming season: Whittaker and Jones.
The club is obviously betting on the future, but it is hard to see a situation in which they become well-known with the first team right away.

Le Bris and his technical team will be able to track their training development, and we have no doubt that both kids will eventually be rewarded with some playing time.
We’ll see how both midfielders fit into the club’s and the French manager’s own plans.
