Breaking: NY Rangers Receive Major K’Andre Miller Trade Update

There’s growing speculation that the New York Rangers could trade K’Andre Miller this offseason.

Ever since the Rangers’ 2024–25 campaign ended, rumors about Miller’s future with the team have intensified.

With no long-term contract extension currently in place, the possibility of the team parting ways with the 24-year-old defenseman is becoming increasingly likely.

While not every rumor is worth taking seriously, the fact that several respected NHL insiders are reporting on Miller’s potential availability lends credibility to the chatter.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli didn’t hold back when discussing the Rangers’ apparent willingness to move on from Miller.

“When there’s more than just smoke, there’s real fire surrounding K’Andre Miller,” Seravalli said. “The Rangers want to reshape their defensive group. From what I’ve heard, even dating back to Mike Sullivan’s time in Pittsburgh—before he came to New York—he wasn’t particularly high on Miller’s style of play. That only strengthens the case that Miller could be traded.”

Contract Talks Reportedly Stalled Between Rangers and Miller

One major roadblock in negotiations seems to be the Rangers’ unwillingness to commit to a long-term deal for Miller.

At this point, it’s unclear whether any progress has been made in extension talks or what kind of return the Rangers could fetch if they choose to move him.
