Pete Alonso and his family are stepping into a new chapter after the star slugger agreed to a five year, $155 million deal with the Baltimore Orioles.

He now says goodbye to the New York Mets, the team he spent the past seven seasons with while growing into one of baseball’s biggest names.

His wife, Haley Alonso, shared her own farewell to New York, reflecting on their time there. She posted a photo of the five time All Star from his 2019 debut with the Mets and wrote that the image captures everything about Pete as a player. Anyone who has watched him, she said, can see how clearly his love for the game shines through.

Haley added that she hopes his legacy in New York is defined by how deeply he cared and how much of himself he invested in the sport, the team, and the city.
She also thanked New York for welcoming their family and being their home.
