BREAKING: Phillies Trade Finally Lands 30 Home Run Fan-Favorite Outfielder From Rival

Philadelphia Phillies fans have been clamoring for a reliable center fielder for years. Despite multiple opportunities during offseasons and trade deadlines, the front office has yet to make a move. President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski doesn’t appear to consider the position a top priority, which has led to subpar production in center field. Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report suggested a potential solution: trading with the Baltimore Orioles for Cedric Mullins. While Mullins is a strong performer, he’s set to hit free agency in 2026. Given the Orioles’ wealth of young talent, they may not see him as part of their long-term plans due to future contract demands.

Miller criticized Philadelphia’s passive strategy: “When it comes to Philadelphia’s center field situation, though, it’s evidently content with a ‘If it’s broke, don’t fix it’ approach.” He noted the team made only a minimal effort last summer, targeting Austin Hays—who struggled with injuries and performance—ultimately playing a limited role in their NLDS loss to the Mets.

Whether Mullins becomes available may depend on Baltimore’s standing closer to the trade deadline. At 5–8 and currently in last place in the AL East, the Orioles need to turn things around quickly to remain contenders. Mullins, for his part, has started the season strong, hitting .286 with a 182 OPS+.
