Auburn has added a significant piece to its defensive front with the signing of an experienced transfer who brings both production and immediate eligibility to the program. The move was finalized on Thursday, January 8, 2026, strengthening the Tigers’ roster ahead of the upcoming season.

The addition represents a return home for the Alabama native, who developed into one of the more dependable defensive linemen available in the transfer portal. His recent performance at the Division I level drew widespread attention and positioned him as a priority target for several major programs across the country.

After beginning his college career at Division II West Alabama, the defensive lineman earned a jump to Arkansas State, where he quickly established himself as a disruptive presence in the trenches. His 2025 season stood out in particular, earning All–Sun Belt Conference honorable mention recognition and solidifying his reputation as a consistent playmaker.

Interest in the veteran defender was extensive. He received scholarship offers from national powers including Alabama, Clemson, Mississippi State, Miami, and Oklahoma. Ultimately, Auburn’s vision for his role and opportunity for immediate impact proved decisive in winning the highly competitive recruitment.

Over the course of his college career, Cody Sigler has compiled 76 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, nine pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries. His 2025 campaign alone included 35 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and five sacks, production that highlights his ability to pressure quarterbacks and disrupt offenses.
With Auburn facing turnover along the defensive line after the 2025 season, Cody Sigler is expected to provide much-needed experience and depth. As the Tigers’ first defensive line transfer addition of the current portal window, his arrival is viewed as an important step in reinforcing the defense as Auburn prepares for the challenges of the SEC.
