Breaking: Top Player Incoming, Huskies football adds commitment from one of the country’s best talent

Washington’s 2027 recruiting class continues to take shape early, and the Huskies are once again making a statement in the Pacific Northwest. As UW builds momentum under its current staff, the program has placed an emphasis on identifying versatile athletes with size and long term upside. That approach paid off this weekend, as Washington secured a commitment from the top football prospect in the state of Idaho. The decision reinforces UW’s regional recruiting reach and adds another high ceiling defender to a class that is already gaining traction well ahead of schedule.

Idaho’s top prospect for the 2027 cycle will remain close to home. Titus Osterman, a 6 foot 4, 235 pound athlete from Kimberly High School, announced his commitment to Washington on Saturday. Osterman becomes the fourth known pledge in UW’s 2027 class and the second addition in a span of three days, following wide receiver Zerek Sidney’s commitment earlier in the week.

A standout on both sides of the ball, Osterman has starred as a linebacker, edge rusher and tight end for Kimberly. Washington linebackers coach Brian Odom made an in person visit earlier this week, and Osterman is expected to begin his college career at linebacker. He also received scholarship offers from Washington State and Utah State, though Washington was the first school to extend an offer back in May 2025.

Osterman is rated as a three star prospect by the 247Sports composite. He ranks as the top player in Idaho, the No. 65 athlete nationally, and No. 823 overall in the country. During the 2025 season, he recorded 96 tackles, including 12 for loss, and added two pass deflections while helping Kimberly reach the Idaho Class 4A state championship game. Despite a narrow loss in the title game, Osterman earned conference defensive player of the year honors.

In his first year as a starter in 2024, Osterman posted 71 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, two pass breakups and a forced fumble as Kimberly advanced to the state semifinals. His impact was not limited to defense. Over two seasons at tight end, he has totaled 61 receptions for 760 yards and eight touchdowns.

Osterman also demonstrated his versatility by stepping in at quarterback during the opening portion of the 2025 season when the team’s starter was sidelined. He completed 41 of 74 passes for 659 yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions, while adding 185 rushing yards and three scores on the ground.

His commitment marks the first time Washington has landed a high school prospect from Idaho since signing offensive lineman Gaard Memmelaar in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Osterman also fits Odom’s preference for bigger framed linebackers. The coach signed two 6 foot 4 prospects in the 2026 class, and UW’s linebacker room continues to trend tall and physical heading into future seasons, reinforcing a clear recruiting identity under the current staff.
