Breaking: UW Football Move Quickly to Land Massive Quarterback Commitment

Washington moved quickly to address its quarterback vacancy following Demond Williams Jr.’s unexpected decision to enter the transfer portal.

Less than a day after Williams revealed his plans, the Huskies reportedly welcomed Beau Pribula to campus on Wednesday. According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the former Missouri and Penn State quarterback visited UW as the program immediately began evaluating options for its next signal-caller.

Pribula is a 6-foot-2, 212-pound quarterback from York, Pennsylvania, who spent the 2025 season at Missouri. During his lone year with the Tigers, he earned team captain honors and started 10 games. Pribula completed 182 of his 270 passing attempts, throwing for 1,941 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also added a meaningful contribution on the ground, rushing 95 times for 297 yards and six scores. His season was briefly interrupted after he dislocated his left ankle in late October, sidelining him until Nov. 22.

Missouri found success when Pribula was on the field, posting a 7-3 record in games he appeared in.

Beau Pribula, Penn State's 'Smooth Operator,' Makes His Debut

Washington is already familiar with Pribula from his earlier stint at Penn State. In 2024, he served as a change-of-pace quarterback behind starter Drew Allar and saw limited but impactful action. Against Washington that season, Pribula scored on his only carry, an eight-yard touchdown run that opened the scoring in a decisive 35-6 victory for the Nittany Lions.

Pribula later drew national attention for entering the transfer portal just before Penn State hosted SMU in the opening round of the 2024 College Football Playoff. At the time, head coach James Franklin publicly defended the decision, pointing to systemic issues within the sport rather than any dissatisfaction from the player.

“We got problems in college football, and I can give you my word Beau Pribula did not want to leave our program, and he did not want to leave our program until the end of the season,” Franklin told reporters Dec. 16, 2024. “But the way the portal is and the timing of it and the way our team is playing, and when you play the position of quarterback and there’s only one spot and those spots are filling up, he felt like he was put in a no-win situation, and I agree with him.

“No. 1, I hate it, most importantly for Beau Pribula. I don’t think it’s in the best interest of the student-athlete, I don’t think it’s in the best interest of college football.”

Across two seasons at Penn State, Pribula appeared in 24 games, completing 37 of 56 passes for 424 yards with nine touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 571 yards and 10 touchdowns on 94 carries. Pribula has one season of eligibility remaining as he explores his next opportunity.
