What do you get for an NFL MVP and an Oscar-nominated actress tying the knot? Maybe the best wedding gift isn’t something you can wrap.
According to Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, his present to Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld is one money can’t buy—protection. “Josh can walk down the aisle in one piece, and be happy that he’s walking down the aisle with all fingers and all toes,” Dawkins joked during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show when asked about his gift for the couple.
Dawkins, a four-time Pro Bowler, stirred buzz back in March when he casually mentioned that Allen and Steinfeld were getting married on May 31. But now, he’s walking that back—just like he does with defensive linemen.
“Is that coming up? I ain’t know nothing about that,” he said with a laugh. “I have no idea what’s going on. We’re all here. We’re all here in Buffalo, working out. I’ll give those guys a FaceTime call and see how everything is going, but I have no idea. I have no idea.”
Staying in character, Dawkins added, “I’m in the fog. I am currently in Orchard Park, and I’m focused on [a new Hallmark movie filming in Buffalo], and I’m focused on eating a nice batch of wings today.”
While fans may be left guessing about the wedding details, one thing’s certain—Allen’s got a teammate who’s got his back, both on and off the field.
