The Duke Blue Devils are set to take on a new identity after an impressive season led by Cooper Flagg, Tyrese Proctor, Kon Knueppel, and others.
Both Knueppel and Proctor have officially declared for the 2025 NBA Draft, while Flagg has yet to make his decision public.
Flagg, who was the top-ranked recruit in his class, is widely projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.
With several key players on the move, head coach Jon Scheyer appears poised to lose a significant amount of talent. However, the program received a boost with one five-star recruit committing to stay in Durham.
Caleb Foster, once a highly regarded blue-chip recruit, announced on social media that he’ll be returning to Duke for his junior season.
“This is God’s plan, young man, you said it yourself,” Foster wrote in his announcement.
Flagg reacted to the news by showing support for his teammate, commenting, “My brother,” along with a blue heart emoji.
Foster initially joined Duke as a five-star recruit, ranked No. 4 among combo guards and No. 19 overall by 247Sports. Over two seasons, he has averaged 6.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
Flagg, meanwhile, wrapped up a standout freshman campaign, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists, while also contributing 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks per game—leading the team in all five categories.
