The Philadelphia Phillies cruised to a 9–3 win over the struggling Colorado Rockies on Monday night, powered by a memorable home run from slugger Kyle Schwarber. The veteran outfielder crushed a towering solo shot in the ninth inning—his 300th career home run. The ball rocketed off his bat at 109.3 mph and soared 466 feet, smashing into the third deck at Coors Field.
While the historic blast was a big personal achievement for the 32-year-old Schwarber, the good news is that no fans were injured by the missile-like shot. The Phillies even shared a photo of the game ball, which impressively maintained its shape despite the powerful impact.
When asked after the game if 12-year-old Kyle Schwarber ever imagined hitting 300 major league homers, the slugger chuckled and said, “Probably not.”

Back in 2005, Schwarber was more focused on quoting lines from Wedding Crashers or watching Derrek Lee chase a batting title with the Cubs than thinking about big league milestones.
With the win, Philadelphia remained atop the National League East standings. Meanwhile, the Rockies dropped to a dismal 8–39 on the season—a record they likely never envisioned either.
