Colorado football continues to stay aggressive in the transfer portal leading up to Memorial Day weekend. Head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes have added another major piece to their roster, securing a massive offensive lineman from UCLA.
Top star announced his commitment to Colorado via X. The towering lineman brings an imposing 6-foot-8, 335-pound frame to the Buffaloes’ offensive front.
“Nothing feels better than proving yourself right,” top prospect wrote in his post as he revealed his decision to join the program in Boulder.
With an impressive 82-inch wingspan, he adds serious size and length to Colorado’s offensive line. He joins a transfer class that continues to rise in national rankings, and he’s not the only former Big Ten offensive lineman making his way to Boulder this offseason.
Colorado portal class features past UCLA, power conference talent
Colorado added another former Big Ten offensive lineman through the transfer portal, landing Maryland tackle Andre Roye Jr., who committed to the Buffaloes on May 12.
Colorado added another former Big Ten lineman through the transfer portal when Maryland tackle Andre Roye Jr. committed to the Buffaloes on May 12. Roye started seven games for the Terrapins and allowed just one sack across nearly 435 snaps. He arrives in Boulder with two years of eligibility remaining.
In contrast, Walker Andersen brings four years of eligibility to Colorado. Andersen experienced a growth spurt early in his college career—initially arriving as a 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive tackle from El Dorado High School in Placentia, California. He earned All-CIF honors, was named his league’s Lineman of the Year, and was selected as an Orange County all-star.
Despite his accolades, Andersen didn’t receive much attention during his recruitment. UCLA signed him during the February 2024 signing period. Now, he’s getting a fresh start under Deion Sanders at Colorado.
Roye and Andersen join another former Power Five offensive tackle in Boulder: ex-Tennessee lineman Larry Johnson III. Johnson is another massive addition, standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 348 pounds.
Thanks to these additions, Colorado currently boasts the No. 2-ranked transfer class in the Big 12 and ranks 19th nationally.
