The Buffalo Bills have wrapped up their minicamp, but the offseason isn’t over yet for Josh Allen and the team, with training camp right around the corner. Set to begin in July, the camp will allow players a much-needed break before they ramp up preparations for the 2025 season.
One player expected to benefit from this downtime is rookie defensive back Maxwell Hairston, who appeared to suffer a lower-body injury during last week’s minicamp. While the injury raised some concerns, the outlook remains optimistic. The former Kentucky standout is anticipated to be ready in time for training camp.
According to Nick Wojton of USA TODAY, Bills general manager Brandon Beane confirmed that Hairston, a first-round pick, injured his hamstring during the final day of minicamp. Still, the team expects him to be fully healthy by the time camp begins in July.
Buffalo Bills could have someone special in Hairston
Hairston is one among many expected to assist the Bills’ pass defense, which struggled in 2024.
Buffalo allowed the ninth-highest passing yards per game last season, and they attempted to solve this in the offseason, in part by using a first-round pick on Hairston, the 30th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Hairston had six interceptions in three seasons at Kentucky, five of which came in 2023, as well as ten passes defended and 89 combined tackles.
