Everton have secured the signing of Netherlands Under-23 international after the midfielder’s contract with Dutch powerhouse Ajax expired.
The 21-year-old Rosa van Gool joins the Toffees and will wear the number 8 shirt. Van Gool joined Ajax in 2023 from ADO Den Haag and played a key role in the midfield as the club reached the quarter-finals of the 2023/24 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Known for her composure and leadership, Van Gool describes herself as a box-to-box midfielder, modeling her style on Dutch international Jackie Groenen. She adds balance to the pitch and often acts as an on-field coach.
“I see myself as a link between defence and attack. I enjoy building play from the back and escaping pressure from opponents,” van Gool said in her first interview with Everton.
“My goal is to contribute with goals, assists, and crucial passes. I want to be a key player for this team and help us achieve as many victories as possible.”
