He had one year of eligibility remaining, chose Kentucky over prominent programs including Ole Miss and LSU, bringing with him proven SEC experience and playmaking ability.
A highly regarded recruit, Jordan Castell was a 4-star prospect in the 2023 class, ranked 212th nationally, 16th among safeties, and 45th in the state of Florida. His recruitment drew widespread attention, with offers from elite programs such as Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas A&M, Penn State, Ole Miss, and LSU, reflecting his talent and versatility at the position.
Castell made an immediate impact in Gainesville, earning a starting role as a true freshman. His performance earned him recognition as an ESPN Freshman All-American and a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team, a testament to his ability to compete at the highest collegiate level. Over the 2025 season, he recorded 54 tackles and two interceptions in 10 games, showcasing his ball-hawking skills, physicality, and instinct in coverage.
