The star slugger for the Philadelphia Phillies, is probably going to sign a massive new contract this offseason. The Athletic’s Jim Bowden recently projected that Schwarber would ink a huge $160 million contract this winter.
Schwarber just finished an MVP-caliber season with the Phillies. Schwarber would have won the National League MVP title if it weren’t for Shohei Ohtani’s outstanding two-way output. He is now scheduled to sign a new contract as a free agent.

Schwarber would re-sign with the Phillies in free agency this offseason, according to Chris Landers of FanSided, which would be a significant step in the right direction.
“With this current core, the Phillies are running out of runway to win a title, and it’s incredibly difficult to imagine what the path forward will be if they don’t retain Schwarber,” Landers wrote. “A significant pitching addition has already been virtually ruled out by Dave Dombrowski, and Schwarber, who also happens to be one of the clubhouse leaders, is a clear fit in their order. Philly cannot afford to lose this one, and Schwarber’s age and one-dimensional appearance will control his price.

Given their tight relationship with Schwarber, the Phillies ought to be the front-runners to sign him. However, it appears that the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds are also after the slugger.
However, it is difficult to see one of these teams robbing the Phillies of Schwarber.

To compete for the World Series the next year, Philadelphia must add Schwarber and an outfielder. The front office will be in a great position if they can pull this off.
