Just In: Ravens Confirms Major Zay Flowers’ Injury Update

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Top star watched from the sidelines as his team was eliminated from the playoffs for the second consecutive year. While a late fumble by him contributed to their postseason exit the previous year, this time he was absent due to a knee injury sustained during the Ravens’ 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

He missed the entire playoff run and is still in the process of recovering. Fortunately, he avoided surgery and is currently participating in the team’s OTAs.

Offensive coordinator Todd Monken provided a positive update, noting that Zay Flowers has “no limits” from his injury and expressing his eagerness to feature him more prominently in the offense for the 2025 season.

“We’ve just got to get him the ball more,” Monken said, via the team’s website. “He’s an incredible football player. Not only is he an elite route-runner on the outside, but he’s also dynamic with the ball in his hands. So, he’s essentially playing two roles. I’m not sure he can use that in his contract talks, but the point is, you can line him up in multiple spots to get him touches, which increases his overall impact. He’s the kind of guy who thrives on volume.”

“You can get the ball to him in creative ways—through screens or deep passes. I expect him to take another step forward. If you’re making the Pro Bowl or earning All-Pro honors, you’re already a high-level player.”

Flowers’ absence from the 2024 playoffs was especially tough for him, as missing out after his costly fumble in the 2023 postseason loss to Kansas City was “killing him.”

“It definitely ate at me,” Flowers said after the 27-25 loss to Buffalo. “I want to be on the field every game and go through everything with my teammates. So not being out there took a toll on me—just watching and not being able to contribute the way I wanted and help the team.”

Flowers will be eligible for a contract extension following the 2025 season, and a bigger role in the offense could strengthen his position in negotiations.
