Michigan State is set to lose another EDGE defender to the transfer portal.
Redshirt junior rush end announced on social media that he’s transferring and plans to use his final two years of eligibility elsewhere. He becomes the second EDGE player to enter the portal this spring, following Anthony Jones’ decision last week.
Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 243 pounds, he recorded five tackles over 19 games across the past two seasons. The Indiana native and former three-star prospect did not appear in any games during his true freshman year in 2022.
Since the spring transfer window opened last week, the Spartans have seen five scholarship players enter the portal: Schott, Jones, defensive back Dillon Tatum, and wide receivers Jaylan Brown and Austin Clay. Additionally, defensive back Caleb Coley entered as a graduate transfer on April 1, and more than half a dozen walk-ons have also left. The spring portal window closes Friday.
Michigan State is coming off a 5-7 season under first-year head coach Jonathan Smith and concluded spring practice this past Saturday.
