Official and Done: Cal Transfer Running Back Commits to Auburn, Giving Tigers Experienced Help in the Transfer Portal

Auburn has officially landed Cal transfer running back  who committed to the Tigers following a campus visit on Sunday, January 4, 2026. High’s decision comes after entering the transfer portal in search of new opportunities and provides Auburn with an experienced option in a backfield that experienced significant turnover during the offseason.

Brandon High,

High spent his time with the California Golden Bears, where he competed for playing time and gained experience in a Power Five program. Known for his versatility as both a runner and a receiver out of the backfield, High adds depth and proven talent to Auburn’s roster, which is looking to reload following departures to the transfer portal and the NFL.

The commitment also highlights Auburn head coach Alex Golesh’s active approach in the January transfer portal. The coaching staff has been evaluating several portal prospects to address key needs, and High’s addition signals the Tigers’ intent to mix experienced transfers with incoming freshmen recruits for the 2026 season.

Auburn’s running back room saw several departures this offseason, making additions a priority. High’s arrival gives the Tigers a player capable of contributing immediately, while also providing competition for current roster members. His experience at the collegiate level is expected to help the team maintain stability and production in the backfield.

High’s commitment comes amid broader Auburn transfer portal activity, including quarterback Byrum Brown, who is reportedly scheduled to visit the program soon. With High officially on board, the Tigers continue to strengthen their roster and position themselves for a competitive 2026 campaign in the SEC.
