New Sacramento Kings general manager Scott Perry continues to shape his front office, with former NBA champion set to join as assistant general manager.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, “The Sacramento Kings are finalizing a deal to hire three-time Chicago Bulls NBA champion as an assistant general manager under new GM Scott Perry.”
He played 11 seasons in the NBA—most notably with the Bulls—transitioned to a front office role with Chicago after retiring and later spent two decades as a player agent. Now, he joins Perry in Sacramento as the Kings revamp both their front office and coaching staff.
With Armstrong coming aboard and the additions of Mike Woodson and Bobby Jackson to Doug Christie’s coaching staff, the Kings’ new leadership duo is actively building out a deep and experienced support system.

New Sacramento Kings head coach Doug Christie is steadily assembling his coaching staff. Following reports of veteran coach Mike Woodson joining as his lead assistant, former Kings guard and ex-Stockton Kings head coach Bobby Jackson is also expected to return to Sacramento in an assistant coaching role.
KCRA’s Sean Cunningham was first to report the news, stating, “I’ve had multiple sources tell me that Bobby Jackson will indeed return to Sacramento as an assistant coach.”
