Recruiting Shockwave: Jedd Fisch Strikes Gold: Secures No. 1 2027 Recruit in the State

The Washington Huskies are gaining momentum in their 2027 recruiting class, securing their second commitment in just a week. Their latest addition is the top recruit from Idaho, linebacker. The standout from Kimberly, Idaho, held offers from Washington, Washington State, and Utah State, and has now chosen the Huskies as his destination. Recruitment for Washington has clearly been heating up.

He has listed as an athlete by 24/7 Sports due to his versatility on both sides of the ball, caught 24 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns on offense. However, his true projection is at linebacker, where his defensive impact stands out: he recorded 71 tackles, including five for loss, one sack, and one interception.

After making an unofficial visit to Montlake this past weekend, Osterman didn’t leave before letting head coach Jedd Fisch and the staff know he was ready to commit and become a Husky.

With Osterman on board, he becomes the fourth commitment in Washington’s 2027 class. Fisch and his staff began building the class with two of the top in-state players: wide receiver Braylon Pope from Sumner and versatile athlete Maurice Williams from Graham. They’ve since expanded beyond Washington, adding Zerek Sidney, Arizona’s sixth-ranked prospect.

Although still early in the cycle, Fisch’s strong recruiting track record is evident. In 2026, the Huskies finished with a top-20 class, and the 2027 group is shaping up similarly, currently ranked 19th overall. With key commitments both in-state and from other regions, Washington is off to a promising start.
