SAD NEWS: Duke Basketball Star Sends Two-Word Message After Confirming His Departure

One of the top players in the transfer portal made his decision this past weekend, committing to his new school.

The transfer portal has been chaotic, reshaping rosters across the nation and turning teams into entirely new squads.

This latest addition is set to strengthen one of the Big East’s premier programs for the 2025-26 season. The Creighton Bluejays have secured an elite guard in Blake Harper.

Harper arrives from Howard, where he earned MEAC Player of the Year honors. While this is a major win for Creighton, the reaction from one of college basketball’s biggest stars is also noteworthy.

Duke’s Khaman Maluach simply commented: “Big time.”

Maluach, who has generated headlines himself by declaring for the NBA Draft, is an 18-year-old, 7-foot-2 standout from South Sudan, projected to be a top-10 pick. In his lone season under Jon Scheyer at Duke, Maluach played in 39 games, averaging 21.3 minutes, 8.6 points, and 6.6 rebounds per contest.

As for Harper, his commitment came as a bit of a surprise, with many believing he would choose Ohio State or LSU. During his single season at Howard, he averaged 19.5 points per game.

In addition to Harper, the Bluejays have secured commitments from Austin Swartz (Miami), Josh Dix and Owen Freeman (Iowa), and Nik Graves (Charlotte). However, they’ve also seen departures, with Pop Isaacs transferring to Houston and Frederick King and Mason Miller heading to Murray State.
