One of the numerous clubs that may utilize one of their eight picks on a quarterback is the New York Giants, who have eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Russell Wilson, a seasoned quarterback, was just signed by the Giants in free agency to start at quarterback this season. However, the team will need to have their future quarterback ready to go when his one-year contract expires.
This morning, NFL Network reported that the Tennessee Titans—holders of the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft—plan to keep their pick and select the quarterback from Miami, rather than trading down for a package of assets.
“There was definite interest from other teams,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted. “But as one team put it, ‘They never even cracked the door open.’” All attention now turns to Cam Ward.

This decision follows weeks of speculation that the Giants, who are in dire need of a long-term solution at quarterback, might trade up to land Ward. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Titans GM Mike Borgonzi turned down a multi-pick offer from the Giants that included this year’s third-round selection.
As things stand, the only sure way for Giants GM Joe Schoen to secure a quarterback is by drafting Shedeur Sanders from Colorado with the No. 3 pick. However, most scouts view Sanders, 23, as more of a second-day talent compared to Ward, making that a risky move. Instead, the Giants are now expected to select Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with their first pick and potentially trade back into the first round for a quarterback like Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, or another option.
We’ll see how it all unfolds Thursday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
