Topnotch Recruit!! Nebraska Lands Ground-breaking Commitment For Another Top Talented Star

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have officially bolstered their special teams unit by adding Australian punter to their 2025 roster. The 18-year-old from Frankston South, Australia, brings a dynamic rugby-style punting approach, aligning with new special teams coordinator Mike Ekeler’s vision for a more aggressive and strategic punting game

His addition comes after a weekend visit to Lincoln, where he impressed the coaching staff with his skills and potential. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 185 pounds, he honed his craft at Prokick Australia, a renowned program that has produced several successful college and NFL punters, including Chicago Bears’ Tory Taylor. His training emphasizes the rugby-style punt, which allows for greater directional control and adaptability on the field.

Head coach Matt Rhule has expressed enthusiasm for incorporating rugby-style punting into the team’s strategy, noting its effectiveness in college football due to different rules compared to the NFL. With the graduation of three-year starter Brian Buschini, Wilson is set to compete with Kamdyn Koch, son of former Husker and NFL punter Sam Koch, for the starting position. This competition is expected to bring out the best in both athletes as they vie for the pivotal role.
