The Washington Huskies are adding significant depth to their wide receiver corps, officially confirming a 6-foot-3, 196-pound athlete, spent his true freshman season at the Buckeyes before entering the transfer portal. With four years of eligibility remaining after redshirting in 2025, he becomes the 12th scholarship transfer to join Washington since the portal opened on Jan. 2.

Players can commit to a new program at any time after entering the transfer portal, even after the official window closes on Jan. 16. Bodpegn Miller initially announced his decision to leave Ohio State on Jan. 9. Like fellow transfers Christian Moss (Kennesaw State WR) and Elijah Brown (Stanford QB), Miller will not enroll at UW until spring quarter.
Miller brings a compelling — if largely untested at the collegiate level — football resume. At Ontario High School in Ohio, he played both quarterback and defensive back and was a four-star recruit in the 2025 class. He was ranked No. 8 in Ohio, No. 11 nationally among athletes, and No. 284 overall by the 247Sports composite rankings. He held scholarship offers from Boston College, Iowa State, Northwestern, and other programs.
During his senior season in 2024, Miller threw for 2,216 yards and 20 touchdowns while rushing for nearly 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns, finishing as a finalist for Ohio’s Mr. Football award. He also set multiple school records at Ontario High, including career passing yards, career passing touchdowns, career rushing yards, and single-season marks in both passing and rushing.
Although born in Ethiopia, Miller was adopted and moved to Mansfield, Ohio, at age six. At Ohio State, he transitioned to wide receiver, spending 2025 learning the new position without seeing game action. Miller reportedly also explored opportunities at Northwestern, Stanford, and Old Dominion before committing to Washington.
Miller becomes the second wide receiver transfer to join the Huskies this window, following Christian Moss, who committed on Jan. 18. Both are 6-foot-3 and listed at roughly 199 pounds. They are expected to compete for snaps at UW’s X-receiver spot, previously occupied by Denzel Boston, who thrived under coach Jedd Fisch’s offense. Freshman Jordan Clay and sophomore Justice Williams, both 6-foot-3 or taller, will also factor into the competition.
Miller is also the second Ohio State transfer to join UW during this portal period, following edge rusher Logan George, who committed on Jan. 12. His arrival signals Washington’s continued focus on reinforcing the offense with size, versatility, and playmaking ability, giving quarterback Drew Pyne a reliable target as the Huskies aim for a deep run in 2026.
