The 2026 NBA offseason has been dominated by blockbuster speculation, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. has found himself squarely in the middle of it. As trade chatter surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to intensify, the Miami Heat forward has become one of the most frequently mentioned names in potential deal scenarios.

Selected 18th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft out of UCLA, Jaquez quickly outperformed expectations. That performance earned him a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
His second season brought a reduced role and a noticeable dip in production, as both his minutes and scoring declined. However, Jaquez responded in a big way during the 2025–26 campaign. Returning to a heavier workload, he became one of the league’s most productive bench players, averaging 15.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists while shooting over 50 percent from the field.

Milwaukee would prefer to keep Antetokounmpo, but league-wide belief suggests his future may no longer be firmly tied to the Bucks. While several teams are expected to inquire, Miami has consistently surfaced as a destination of interest for the two-time MVP.
Reports indicate the Bucks were intrigued by a previous Heat proposal that included Jaquez, underscoring how highly the young wing is valued around the league.
