The Atlanta Braves are trying to maintain their position atop the NL East, but they’ve hit a rough patch after losing three straight games and five of their last six.
Atlanta is coming off a disappointing series against the Minnesota Twins, who completed a sweep. In the series finale, Braves starter AJ Smith-Shawver allowed four earned runs across 4.1 innings.
Now, speculation has emerged surrounding Smith-Shawver’s relationship with former MLB slugger Jose Canseco’s daughter, Josie Canseco.
AJ Smith-Shawver and Josie Canseco’s Relationship Could Be Over After Instagram Wiping
According to the New York Post’s Edward Lewis, AJ Smith-Shawver and Josie Canseco, a Victoria’s Secret model, appear to have reached ‘splitsville’ after seemingly removing photos of one another from their Instagram accounts.
Canseco has also unfollowed Smith-Shawver on the social media platform, while the Braves pitcher still follows her, at least for now.
Lewis also reported that Josie Canseco recently shared a post with the captions “A year with you,” and “How’d I get so lucky.” The post, which has since been deleted, reportedly included nearly 20 photos of the couple together in various locations around the world.
Smith-Shawver’s mother, Laurie, even joined the celebration in the comments, writing, “Happy Anniversary! Love y’all so much.”

Both the comment and the post have since been deleted. A visit to Josie Canseco’s Instagram account now shows a profile filled exclusively with photos of herself.
Josie’s father, Jose, spent 17 seasons in MLB and earned six All-Star selections. He finished his career with 462 home runs, 1,407 RBIs, and a .266 batting average.
He might have had a stronger Hall of Fame case, but his connection to MLB’s PED and steroid era of the 1990s became a significant part of his legacy as the issue continued to plague the sport for years.
