BREAKING: Everton Make Move to Sign 24-Year-Old Forward After Stunning 25-Goal Contributions

Everton have identified Dinamo Zagreb striker Dion Drena Beljo as a potential transfer target as the Premier League side look to strengthen their attacking options next year.

The Toffees have scored just eight goals in eight league matches this season, with Thierno Barry leading their scoring charts with three goals, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has found the net twice.

Elsewhere, James Tarkowski, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Tyrique George have each scored once for Everton. This means only five players have managed to get on the scoresheet for the Merseyside club in the league so far.

Considering their struggles in front of goal, it would hardly be surprising if David Moyes’ side decided to pursue a new attacking signing when the January transfer window opens.

Everton identify Beljo as a January transfer target

Recent reports from the UK have linked Everton with an interest in Dion Drena Beljo, with suggestions that Dinamo Zagreb value the striker at around €25 million.

Following the emergence of these links, Croatian newspaper Večernji List has offered further insight into Dinamo Zagreb’s position regarding the possibility of allowing the forward to leave during the winter transfer window.

The Croatia international returned to his homeland in July 2025, when Dinamo Zagreb signed him from FC Augsburg. He enjoyed an outstanding debut season, recording an impressive 38 goals and six assists in 48 appearances.

His performances attracted interest from elsewhere, with two unnamed clubs reportedly submitting €20 million offers during the summer transfer window. However, Dinamo rejected both proposals, and their decision appears to have been justified by the striker’s continued improvement.

Everton must make a convincing offer

Beljo has maintained his impressive form this season, registering 17 goals and eight assists in just 17 appearances.

Earlier this month, Sport Witness covered a report from Croatia indicating that Newcastle United are also interested in the striker. The Magpies could therefore face competition from their Premier League rivals if they decide to pursue a deal.

Večernji List now reports that Everton ‘could try to test Dinamo’s resolve as early as January’ as they consider a move for the 24-year-old.

Beljo remains under contract until 2030, while Transfermarkt currently values him at €15 million. His long-term contract puts Dinamo Zagreb in a strong negotiating position and gives the Croatian club little reason to rush into selling one of their most important players.

Having already turned down offers worth €20 million in the summer, Dinamo are unlikely to make negotiations straightforward for interested clubs.

Everton or any other potential suitor may therefore need to present a particularly attractive proposal to stand a realistic chance of securing his signature in January.

There has been no indication of the exact fee Dinamo would demand to sanction his departure, leaving the situation open to further developments over the coming months.

One possible advantage for Everton is their connection with Agency Roof, which represents Beljo. The agency also has Thierno Barry and Tyler Dibling among its clients, potentially giving the Toffees an existing relationship they could look to utilise if they decide to step up their pursuit of the Croatian striker.
