Burks began his college journey in the 2023–24 season with Kentucky, where he arrived as a developmental piece with potential on both ends of the floor. In limited minutes, he showed flashes of scoring versatility and rebounding effort, though consistency and a crowded rotation limited his overall impact during his freshman campaign in Lexington.
Seeking a larger role, Burks transferred to Georgetown for the 2024–25 season. In the Big East, he took a notable step forward, earning increased playing time and responsibility as a two-way wing. His ability to attack in transition and score off mid-range pull-ups became a more consistent part of his game, though the Hoyas struggled to find sustained team success throughout the season.
For the 2025–26 season, Burks transferred again, landing at UCF, where he posted his most productive year to date. He averaged 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Knights, establishing himself as a reliable scoring option and physical presence on the perimeter. His improved efficiency and confidence in isolation situations helped him emerge as one of UCF’s key contributors.
Before his college career, Burks was already well regarded as a scoring threat. He led the Overtime Elite (OTE) league in scoring during his senior season with 27.1 points per game, highlighting the offensive talent that has followed him through each stage of his development.
