BREAKING: Auburn Wins Heated SEC Battle for Top 2027 Signal Caller

New Auburn head coach Alex Golesh faces a major challenge when it comes to building the Tigers’ 2027 recruiting class. At the moment, Auburn holds just two commitments in the cycle: four star defensive lineman Donivan Moore and three star tight end Trae Proctor. That leaves plenty of room to grow, but Golesh may soon have momentum on his side. The Tigers are preparing to host elite four star quarterback for an official visit, which could potentially lead to their third pledge in the class.

Abrams is one of the most coveted prospects in the 2027 cycle. According to 247Sports, he ranks as the No. 2 quarterback in the nation for his class and the No. 22 overall player. With that kind of résumé, it is no surprise that powerhouse programs across the country are aggressively pursuing him. Auburn is firmly in the mix, and Abrams has already mapped out his official visit schedule.

The talented signal caller is set to visit Auburn on June 5, marking the second stop on his official visit tour. Other programs that have secured visits include Purdue, Kentucky, and Florida State. Tennessee is also competing for his commitment, although a specific date for that visit has not yet been finalized.

Landing Abrams would be a significant victory for Golesh, who is looking to secure a cornerstone quarterback for the future. In the 2026 class, Auburn currently has only one quarterback committed, three star prospect Rhys Brush. While the staff believes in Brush’s potential, Golesh appears eager to bring in a top tier quarterback from his own recruiting efforts, and Abrams certainly fits that profile.

Abrams delivered an eye opening junior season at Montini Catholic High School. He passed for 4,072 yards and 40 touchdowns, nearly doubling his production from his sophomore campaign. In addition to his arm talent, he showcased his athleticism by rushing for 10 touchdowns, highlighting his ability to impact the game as a dual threat quarterback.

With his official visits stretching into late June, Abrams is not expected to make a decision until later in the summer. Auburn supporters may need to remain patient, but the Tigers will have a prime opportunity to make their case when Abrams steps on campus. To secure his commitment, Golesh and his staff must outshine several major SEC contenders also vying for the standout quarterback’s signature.
