The St. Louis Cardinals’ dramatic shift from surprising playoff contenders to clear trade deadline sellers over the past few weeks has created an uneasy atmosphere inside the clubhouse.
With the front office evaluating which veterans could be moved while continuing to build around younger talent, trade speculation has become a daily reality. During a recent appearance on MLB Network, veteran reliever Ryne Stanek revealed that several teammates have approached him for advice, asking what the deadline process is like and whether they should expect to be dealt.

Beyond the list of usual suspects known to be available — Dustin May, JoJo Romero, Ryne Stanek, Lars Nootbaar — the Cardinals are at least open to offers on first baseman Alec Burleson…”
