BREAKING: Mizzou Lands Shock Transfer as All-American Star Joins Program

Missouri is wasting no time making its presence felt in the transfer portal, signaling a clear intent to reload and strengthen key areas of the lineup ahead of next season. With roster movement already creating intrigue across multiple weight classes, the Tigers have added a proven talent whose arrival could shake up internal competition and reshape expectations moving forward.

That addition comes in the form of an accomplished All-American and two-time NCAA Tournament qualifier transferring in from Wisconsin. A native of the Springfield area, he built a dominant reputation early in his career as a three-time state champion at Nixa High School before transitioning successfully to the collegiate level.

Zan Fugitt breakthrough came during his redshirt freshman campaign, where he delivered an impressive performance at the NCAA Championships, finishing fourth and establishing himself as one of the top competitors in his weight class. He returned to the national tournament again this past season, though his run ended earlier than expected with a 1-2 record, concluding his time with the Badgers in the consolation rounds.

The move comes shortly after another development within Missouri’s roster, as Zeke Seltzer entered the transfer portal following a season that saw him begin as the starter at 141 pounds before being overtaken midway through the year. The incoming transfer has primarily competed at 133 pounds, a division where Missouri already features notable depth.

With returning NCAA qualifiers Kade Moore and Gage Walker both in the mix at 133, competition for spots will be intense. Walker notably took over midseason and earned his own NCAA berth, further crowding the picture.

At the same time, the departure of Josh Edmond at 149 pounds opens the door for lineup adjustments. As a result, several weight classes, including 133, 141, 149, and 157, are shaping up to be key areas to watch. Rising talent Seth Mendoza also adds another layer of intrigue after an impressive redshirt season.
