After putting together an impressive run on the 2027-28 recruiting trail, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has shifted his focus toward filling the Wildcats’ final open roster spot. Throughout the second half of the summer, Kentucky has carefully evaluated several transfer options, but one name is beginning to stand out above the rest.
According to Tristan Pharis, fifth-year senior forward Keyshawn Hall, who spent last season at Auburn, held a Zoom meeting with Kentucky’s coaching staff on Monday. Hall has quickly become one of the most sought-after players in the expanded transfer portal, and the Wildcats appear to be among the earliest schools making a strong push.
Although Hall’s journey has included four schools in four seasons, with a fifth now on the horizon, his production makes him an attractive target despite questions about his collegiate path. His combination of scoring, versatility and efficiency has made him one of the portal’s most coveted available forwards.
Hall Checks Every Box for Kentucky
Hall earned All-SEC honors after averaging 19.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game during his lone season at Auburn. Even as the Tigers navigated a difficult season following a coaching change, Hall remained one of the conference’s most productive players.
Standing 6-foot-7, Hall can impact the game in multiple ways. He is capable of creating offense off the dribble, finishing at the rim and stretching defenses with reliable perimeter shooting. His 37.9 percent mark from three-point range and 60.6 percent true shooting percentage make him an ideal fit for the up-tempo, spacing-oriented offense Pope continues to build in Lexington.
Pharis highlighted both Hall’s talent and Kentucky’s growing interest.

Kentucky is far from alone in pursuing Hall. Programs including Indiana, St. John’s, Kansas and LSU have also expressed interest, but the early communication between Hall and the Wildcats suggests Pope is firmly in the mix.
Mark Pope Continues Building Recruiting Momentum
Pope has generated considerable recruiting momentum over the past several months. While Kentucky missed out on prospects Nikola Kusturica and Marcus Spears Jr., the Wildcats responded by landing Milan Momcilovic and securing a commitment from five-star 2027 recruit Ryan Hampton.
Hall is one of several transfer options Kentucky continues to evaluate, but he currently appears to be among the program’s top priorities. With the fall semester approaching, Pope is intensifying his efforts to complete the roster.
If Kentucky ultimately lands Hall, it would represent another significant recruiting victory for Pope and provide the Wildcats with an experienced, proven scorer capable of making an immediate impact in the SEC. Given Hall’s production—including consecutive 32-point performances at Rupp Arena during Auburn’s season—his offensive ability is already familiar to the Big Blue Nation.
While questions remain about his multiple transfers, Hall’s talent and production make him one of the most intriguing remaining players in the portal, and Kentucky appears determined to stay in the race until the end.
