The Philadelphia Phillies executed multiple roster changes on Saturday, highlighted by the return of ace Zack Wheeler as the club attempts to regroup during a challenging stretch.

Wheeler was activated from the 15-day injured list after completing his rehab assignment with Double-A Reading. The veteran right-hander steps back into the rotation immediately and is set to start against the Atlanta Braves, offering a welcome lift to a pitching staff that has struggled to find consistency.

To open a spot on the roster, Philadelphia optioned right-hander Alex McFarlane back to Double-A Reading after his recent time with the big-league club. The decision directly coincides with Wheeler’s return and represents a standard pitching staff adjustment.
