Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson has agreed to a new long-term contract that will keep him at Selhurst Park until 2030, securing the future of one of the club’s most important players.
The new agreement reportedly makes Henderson the highest-paid player at Palace and extends his stay by an additional three-and-a-half years, rewarding the England international for his huge contribution to the club’s recent rise.
The 29-year-old had attracted interest from elsewhere during the summer transfer window, with former Palace boss Oliver Glasner exploring the possibility of taking him to Nottingham Forest. Forest made an enquiry just days before the transfer deadline, but Henderson has now chosen to commit the best years of his career to Palace.
Talks over a fresh contract had been in progress since July, and the goalkeeper’s new deal reflects his growing importance both on and off the pitch after being named club captain last season.
Henderson played a key role in Palace’s historic campaign, helping the Eagles lift the UEFA Conference League trophy while making 52 appearances across all competitions. He recorded 18 clean sheets during the season and delivered several decisive performances at crucial moments.
The goalkeeper was also instrumental in Palace’s FA Cup success, producing shutout performances in the quarter-final, semi-final, and final as the club secured another major trophy.
Since arriving from Manchester United in 2023 for an initial £15 million, Henderson has become a popular figure among Palace supporters. His leadership, consistency, and big-game performances have established him as a vital part of the squad.
Although Henderson is currently sidelined with a foot injury, he featured in Palace’s opening three matches of the season while carrying the issue and is expected to return after the international break.
The new contract represents a major show of faith from Palace in their captain, who has already played a defining role in the club’s recent trophy-winning era. Henderson’s achievements also include winning a bronze medal with England at the FIFA World Cup, where he started the third-place play-off match.
