GAME-CHANGING MOVE: Phillies Pull Off Huge Move, Acquire All-Star Pitcher In Blockbuster

The Philadelphia Phillies made another roster move as they continue their push toward the postseason, adding a 26-year-old right-handed pitcher to the organization through the waiver wire.

The move gives the Phillies additional pitching depth as the club looks to maintain its strong recent form and position itself for the final stretch of the season.

Via the Phillies on X: “The Phillies have claimed RHP Andrew Hoffmann off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks and optioned him to triple-A Lehigh Valley. To make room on the 40-man roster, INF/OF Felix Reyes was recalled from LHV and placed on the 60-day injured list with a right wrist fracture.”

The Diamondbacks had designated Hoffmann for assignment earlier this week, allowing Philadelphia to bring the right-hander into the organization.
