The Kentucky Wildcats have struck again on the recruiting trail for the class of 2027, this time by pulling off a flip of tight end Trae from the Auburn Tigers, as first reported by Steve Wiltfong. After days of growing buzz, Proctor made the decision official on Thursday, giving Kentucky another early win in the cycle.

Proctor, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound standout from American Heritage High School in Florida, originally pledged to Auburn back in January. However, Kentucky’s staff stayed persistent in its pursuit, and that steady pressure ultimately paid off with the flip. The three-star prospect is currently ranked No. 761 nationally by the 247 Sports Composite, sitting 41st among tight ends and 73rd overall in the state of Florida.
Proctor’s recruitment drew interest from a wide range of programs, with offers from Miami, Florida, Duke, Florida State, Louisville, SMU, Iowa, Missouri, and several others.
With Proctor now on board, Kentucky Football has climbed to nine total commitments in the 2027 class, marking the first full recruiting cycle under head coach Will Stein. Early returns suggest the Wildcats are building strong momentum, and this class is already showing signs of real promise.
