Arizona Diamondbacks, the organization received news involving a former player. Catcher Chadwick Tromp, who recently became a free agent after spending a short stretch on Atlanta’s roster this season, has reportedly agreed to a minor-league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Taking a Look at Chadwick Tromp’s Time in Atlanta
Tromp is now part of the Dodgers organization and has been assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Before joining Los Angeles, he also spent brief periods with the Baltimore Orioles. However, his five-year run with the Braves remains the longest tenure he has had with a single organization.
Tromp appeared in at least one game for Atlanta each season from 2022 through 2026. During that span, he played 40 games, recording a .225 batting average across 102 at-bats. He also collected 10 doubles, drove in 13 runs, and posted a 53 OPS+.
Inside Chadwick Tromp’s Full MLB Career
Overall, Tromp has appeared in parts of seven MLB seasons. He made his major-league debut with the San Francisco Giants in 2020 before later playing 15 games across two separate stints with Baltimore.
In 221 career MLB at-bats, Tromp owns a .208 batting average, along with six home runs and 27 RBI. His career OPS+ stands at 52.
From the Dodgers’ perspective, the signing fills an organizational need behind the plate. Los Angeles recently released catcher Chuckie Robinson and was looking to add some catching depth. Tromp emerged as the player they ultimately targeted, giving the Dodgers another experienced option within their system.
