Auburn’s push to redefine its future took another major leap forward on Monday, as the Tigers landed one of the most coveted running backs in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Momentum has been building steadily on the Plains, and this latest commitment reinforces the sense that Auburn is assembling something special well ahead of schedule. With tradition at the running back position deeply woven into the program’s identity, securing elite talent early is more than just a recruiting win—it’s a statement about direction, belief, and long-term vision.

Four-star running back officially committed to Auburn Tigers and head coach Alex Golesh, becoming the second running back pledge in Auburn’s 2027 class. He joins fellow four-star standout Myson Johnson-Cook, giving the Tigers two of the top 16 running backs in the nation for the cycle—an impressive haul this early in the process.
Miles’ decision came shortly after a weekend visit to Auburn, a trip that clearly solidified his feelings about the program. The St. Louis, Missouri native chose the Tigers over Alabama and Missouri, pointing to the culture, relationships, and overall environment as decisive factors. He described Auburn as a place that felt natural and welcoming, emphasizing how quickly the program began to feel like home.

A product of St. Mary’s High School, Miles is coming off a dominant junior season in 2025. He rushed for 2,098 yards and 26 touchdowns, added 12 receptions for 236 yards and a score, and showcased his toughness and versatility by contributing heavily on defense. At around 6-foot and 205 pounds, Miles combines physicality with explosiveness, making him one of the more complete backs in his class.
A major influence in his commitment was Auburn running backs coach Larry Porter, with whom Miles has developed a strong and genuine relationship. That trust and connection played a significant role in pushing Auburn to the top of his list.
While comparisons to legendary Auburn duos like Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown are premature, the significance of landing two elite running backs in one class cannot be overlooked. With veterans Jeremiah Cobb and Bryson Washington leading the room in the short term, Miles and Johnson-Cook will have the opportunity to develop while still competing for early roles.
Miles becomes Auburn’s 12th commitment in the 2027 class and the third in a span of two days, joining cornerback Nash Johnson and placekicker Noah Ash. His commitment has already helped lift Auburn into the national top 25 for the cycle, signaling that the Tigers’ recruiting momentum is accelerating—and that the foundation for Auburn’s next era is being laid right now.
