Alan Hutton predicts Emery to drop big-money Aston Villa star for tonight

According to Alan Hutton, Pau Torres could be rested for Aston Villa’s Europa Conference League match against Zrinjski Mostar on Thursday.

Torres, 26, has appeared in every Premier League game since Tyrone Mings’ injury at Newcastle on the first day of the season.

However, the Spaniard was an unused replacement in the Conference League defeat to Legia Warsaw on September 21.
Hutton feels Emery could change his starting lineup from the weekend’s 6-1 win over Brighton in order to avoid further injuries to key first-team players.

When asked explicitly if Torres could be rested, Hutton responded, “Absolutely.”

“Emery could cast a shadow over everyone.”

“There are normally a couple of changes here and there unless they play Saturday and Saturday.”We’ll have to wait and see because with players like Mings out, you don’t want to risk further injury.

“It’s very difficult to sit here and think what he’s going to do but I do believe there will be changes.”

Mings is projected to lose a significant amount of time this season, while Diego Carlos demonstrated last season that he is also prone to long-term injuries.

Torres joined Aston Villa from Villarreal in July for £31.5 million.
