‘Decision made’- ‘Absolutely brilliant’ PL player will not be joining Forest in January

Jamaal Lascelles has been a target for Nottingham Forest in the last three transfer windows. Newcastle’s club captain is now staying put and will not be leaving St James’ Park.

The defender recently put on a defensive masterclass against one of the finest players in the world. He suffocated Kylian Mbappe in Newcastle’s 4-1 win against PSG last week.
He was certain to stay on the radar of numerous Premier League clubs, with Forest lately among those interested in Lascelles. However, he has no intention of ever leaving the Magpies.

Newcastle has made a choice regarding Forest-Linked Lascelles.
According to the Northern Echo, Eddie Howe is thinking about the club captain. With Sven Botman out, Lascelles now has an opportunity to reclaim his starting spot.

Newcastle are a club on the rise, having defied the expectations to earn a spot in the Champions League last season. However, the 29-year-old only appeared in 11 games this season.

He’s now an important component of Howe’s ambitions at Newcastle. He’s not going anywhere, and despite Steve Cooper’s admiration for him at Forest, he’s not coming back to the City Ground anytime soon.

Newcastle now relies on Lascelles.
Shay Given described him as ‘simply magnificent’ after his performance against PSG. He kept Mbappe quiet for 90 minutes and deserved all of the praise he received.

In reality, Forest are perhaps well-stocked at the back right now. Murillo appears to be a terrific signing, and bright youngster Andrew Omobamidele is reportedly set to join the club.

At 29, Lascelles is probably in his prime years right now. As a result, he would have been a decent signing for Forest to bolster the experience in their ranks.

Still, this isn’t the end of the world and Forest will move on very quickly from this possible setback.
