Premier league club set to allow brilliant 21-year-old join Sunderland

Manchester United are open to letting Sunderland target Amad Diallo go out on loan in January, according to TEAMtalk.

Diallo made a positive impact during his previous loan spell at the Stadium of Light.

Due to injuries and early returns of other loaned players, Diallo became crucial for Tony Mowbray’s team, along with Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts. His impressive performance, contributing 14 goals and four assists in 42 matches, helped Sunderland secure a top-six position last season, shortly after their promotion from League One.

Despite this success, Diallo attracted attention from other clubs in the summer, including Premier League sides Burnley and Sheffield United, creating uncertainty about his return to Sunderland.

Unfortunately, an injury during pre-season prevented Diallo from securing another loan move, potentially affecting his chances of making it into Erik ten Hag’s first-team plans at Manchester United. Although United is open to another loan, they haven’t decided on the destination.

Sunderland must consider whether bringing Diallo back would affect the game time of younger permanent players, such as Jobe Bellingham and Bradley Dack. While a permanent signing may be financially challenging, Diallo could be a difference-maker in their promotion bid.

If a reasonably priced loan deal is available, it’s a viable option for Sunderland to bring him back for the rest of the 2023/24 season. However, if the cost is prohibitive, they might have to pass up on this opportunity, which would be regrettable given Diallo’s potential impact.
