Star would now demand €8 million per year to sign Milan contract

Milan has spent the previous few months making sure they are well prepared for the future. They recently signed Rafael Leo to a new deal and hope to do the same with Mike Maignan.

Maignan is seen as a key member of the Milan squad, and his rejuvenation is critical in the club’s eyes. Maignan is certainly aware of his own worth, as he is demanding a large sum of money to sign a new contract, according to Pietro Mazzara. He is now making €2.8 million per year, but if he were to sign a new contract, he would demand €8 million per year.

This represents a nearly threefold boost in compensation, making him by far the greatest earner at the team. Maignan wants to stay at the club and is not asking for this money to delay his departure.

Both parties want the extension and must reach an agreement. Maignan has put Milan in a difficult position, forcing them to decide how much they want to keep the Frenchman.
