In his analysis of Wolves’ 2-2 draw with Newcastle United, Craig Dawson called Toti Gomes’ assist on Hwang Hee-chan’s goal “magic.”
With a valiant effort against the Magpies, Wolves extended their Premier League winning streak to five games. Despite the difficult circumstances, Wanderers occasionally made good use of the ball and could have won by three points if not for some additional dubious officiating.
Hwang was found to have fouled Fabian Schar in the first half. Replays, however, revealed that he did not actually kick the defender, who made initial contact with the South Korean.
The VAR in some way did not invalidate the on-field ruling. And to make it 2-1, Callum Wilson scored from the spot kick.
However, Hwang would keep up his excellent goal-scoring streak with a fantastic goal on Match of the Day that astounded Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker.
Dawson made a move to thank the man who made it possible after the game.
Craig Dawson wowed by Toti Gomes after his brilliant assist for Hwang Hee-chan in Wolves vs Newcastle
Toti’s work right before Hwang’s goal really impressed Dawson, who was excellent himself against Newcastle.
The center back maneuvered between two players while positioned on the right wing. Then, he perfectly through-balled Hwang in.
Dan Burn was left sprawling as Hwang finished coolly at the near post after cutting inside.
It was a fantastic goal, and Dawson praised his teammate, Toti, a Wolves official, saying, “Two outstanding goals.” For us, set plays will be extremely important. With Toti’s small bit of magic, the second goal demonstrates the quality we have moving forward. Channy is currently playing incredibly well, so hopefully that trend continues.
Toti had never assisted a goal for Wolves before, until that moment. And it’s unlikely that he’ll improve too many.
Conor Coady, a former Wolves captain, praised him for his performance as “sensational.”
It’s obvious that Toti Gomes is more than just a capable defender
Since joining Wolves’ first team, Toti’s reputation has been shaped by his reputation as a very strong and trustworthy defender.
However, it’s evident at this point that he also possesses some technical qualities. He moved past the two Newcastle players in an impressive manner, and he then saw Hwang and perfectly timed the pass.
Right now, the 24-year-old is having a great time, and hopefully, this will continue.
He has put a lot of effort into earning his starting position. Additionally, Wolves appear more put together with him on the team. Unquestionably, he has had an impact; in the last five games he has started, Wolves has scored eight points.
