Eddie Howe gives Newcastle team news and line up hint vs Manchester United

On Wednesday night, Manchester United will face Newcastle United in a rematch of last season’s Carabao Cup final.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has hinted that he will make a few changes to his team when they travel to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup fourth round tomorrow night. The Magpies will be looking for vengeance against United in a rematch of last year’s competition final.

United are coming off a demoralizing derby defeat at the hands of City, while Newcastle have lost three of their last four games in all competitions.

Howe’s side were held to a 2-2 draw at Wolves over the weekend, and he has hinted at a number of changes from the team that began at Molineux.

“It’s a busy period for us,” he said during his pre-match press conference. “We’re looking forward to playing Manchester United next.” They are a top-tier team with top-tier players. We will have to use our squad; with Arsenal and Dortmund on the way, it would be foolish not to – but we are going there with a game plan and to compete.”

Sven Botman and Alexander Isak will both miss Wednesday’s match at Old Trafford, while Sandro Tonali is suspended for the rest of the season.

Newcastle is not expecting any players to return ahead of the game, and will most likely field the same lineup as last weekend.

“The timeframe on Sven Botman is unclear at the moment; we are taking it day by day with that one,” Howe added. We hope to see Alex Isak back after the international break. I don’t expect anyone to return who we didn’t already have available for Wolves.”
